KIDNAP CALL

Troy V. Cordle

Story Vault

"The call that has made the biggest impact on my 11 year career thus far is the the call I took from a young woman who had been abducted. She called 9-1-1 and threw her cell phone on floorboard of the vehicle. The phone provided an open line allowing me to track the vehicle for 20 minutes. While locating the caller, I listened to her screams in the background. Using phase 2 technology allowed me to update locations to police, which eventually lead them to a home where the woman was being held against her will. Later, I learned this the caller was to testify in court against the perpetrators. This call clearly emphasized the significance of 9-1-1 and technology's ability to work together in ways never possible before."
