The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office seeks Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) applicants.

Located in beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the Kootenai County Emergency Communications Center serves as the primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in Kootenai County.  ECOs answer both emergency and non-emergency phones while providing Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS dispatch services to 14 emergency response agencies and the community.  The Center is a 24-hour, seven day a week operation, therefore, applicants must be willing to work the following:

o    12 hour shift work

o    Day, swing and graveyard shift

o    Holidays

o    Overtime on short notice

Starting wage is $18.97 – $25.80 (includes .50 shift differential) depending on experience.  Kootenai County offers an excellent and comprehensive benefits package, 11.94% employee contribution to PERSI, and the Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program.
